Mexico City, Retail’s New Rhythm

This August, Enactor’s Director of New Business, Jules Carrell, and Director of Delivery, Richard Dodd, touched down in Mexico City. The mission? To continue building the foundations for Enactor’s growing operations across Latin America.

Between strategy sessions and partner meetings, the pair explored the vibrant streets of La Condesa and La Roma. These neighbourhoods are a collision of old and new – tree-lined boulevards and art deco façades rubbing shoulders with buzzing cafés and cutting-edge retail. It’s a living metaphor for where Latin America’s retail sector finds itself today: dynamic, creative, and moving fast.

Why LATAM Retail is Having a Moment

Latin America isn’t following the retail playbook – it’s rewriting it.

  • E-commerce is exploding, expected to reach nearly $195 billion by the end of 2024. The region is one of the fastest-growing digital markets in the world, powered by smartphones and fintech.
  • Studies show 73% of LATAM shoppers use multiple channels before making a purchase. And those omnichannel customers? They spend more – 10% extra online and 4% more in-store.
  • Payments are going local. Brazil’s instant-pay system Pix now processes billions of transactions, and Mexico’s OXXO vouchers remain a household staple. Retailers that can’t handle this complexity risk being left behind.
  • AI is already shaping retail decisions. Roughly 6 in 10 LATAM retailers are investing in AI and machine learning to forecast demand and sharpen inventory management – well ahead of global peers.

This isn’t a market waiting for change. It’s a market creating it.

Where Enactor Fits In

For retailers like New Look, expanding in LATAM means delivering shopping experiences that match this pace of change. That’s where Enactor’s technology comes in:

  • POS that keeps up – integrating real-time inventory across stores, warehouses, and online.
  • Omnichannel that feels effortless – because customers don’t care about channels, they just want seamless experiences.
  • Local payments made simple – Enactor makes complexity invisible to the shopper.
  • Data with purpose – helping retailers turn every interaction into smarter forecasts, better service, and stronger loyalty.

The Big Picture

Walking through Mexico City, Jules and Richard saw more than just retail. They saw a region alive with possibility – where local culture, global brands, and technology collide.

For Enactor, the investment in Mexico is straightforward: LATAM represents one of the fastest-growing retail markets in the world, and being on the ground ensures we can support partners with the technology and agility needed to succeed here.
