Fiscalisation changes in Germany for 2020

If you’re retailing in Germany after January 1st 2020 you should be aware that the fiscalisation rules are changing. All POS, cash registers and printers will be required to be fitted with a “Technische Sicherheitseinrichtung” – essentially a certified technical security device that prevents fiscal manipulation of transactions. In addition, all devices fitted with the TSE will be required to be reported to the German authorities. This further reinforces the growth of fiscalisation across Europe, driven by an increased focus on fraud prevention and tax avoidance.

Retailers will need to work with a POS provider that has integrated to a certified TSE, and that can incorporate this new requirement into their overall European reporting
