JYSK and Enactor scale Unified Commerce
across borders
JYSK, a global home furnishings powerhouse with 3464 stores across more than 30 countries, continues to set the standard for retail excellence. With a turnover of €5.2 billion in FY23 and an EBIT of €531 million, the Retailer’s success despite the slowdown in the global retail market is a testament to its commitment to innovation, customer-centricity, and seamless operations.
JYSK’s Unified Commerce strategy, aptly named “Seamless and Closer to the Customer” is propelled by its collaboration with Enactor. In 2024, JYSK achieved two major milestones in its international expansion journey. By June, Enactor’s Next-Generation POS was live across 28 stores in Portugal, and by August, the rollout extended to 150 stores in Spain. These milestones reflect the scalability of JYSK’s operations and the robustness of Enactor’s Unified Commerce platform in supporting Retailers of this magnitude.
A partnership for Unified Commerce excellence
The success of these rollouts highlights JYSK’s innovative approach to Unified Commerce, powered by Enactor’s platform. Leveraging Enactor’s unique extension capabilities, JYSK’s in-house development teams have rapidly built and deployed market-leading omnichannel solutions. This flexibility has enabled JYSK to design tailored, seamless customer journeys that align perfectly with their customers’ expectations.
Under the guidance of CIO Keld Marott, JYSK has demonstrated how a Retailer can harness Next-Gen tools to create unified shopping journeys that bridge physical and digital channels. This is Unified Commerce in action—a testament to JYSK’s industry leadership and Enactor’s ability to empower Retailers with unparalleled extensibility and agility.
Tackling fiscal challenges
Operating across multiple fiscal countries brings unique complexities, but JYSK has successfully overcome these challenges with Enactor’s fiscalisation capabilities.
In Portugal, JYSK and Enactor implemented a fully software-based fiscal solution certified by the Portuguese tax authorities, eliminating the need for middleware or additional hardware. This agile solution integrates seamlessly into both Fixed and Mobile POS systems, ensuring compliance while maintaining flexibility.
In Spain, Enactor’s fiscal capabilities have similarly ensured a smooth rollout, adhering to local tax regulations and enabling consistent operations. These achievements highlight the adaptability of Enactor’s solutions to diverse fiscal environments, critical for multinational Retailers like JYSK.
In Turkey, Enactor continues to work closely with JYSK to keep abreast of fast-moving fiscal changes to keep the Turkish fiscal solution compliant.
Scaling success for the future
Beyond Portugal and Spain, JYSK piloted Enactor in Austria in October 2024, paving the way for an ambitious expansion in 2025. With plans to roll out across 10 additional countries, JYSK continues to strengthen its global presence.
Currently, all of JYSK’s stores in Denmark, Turkey, Portugal, and Spain are running on Enactor’s Unified Commerce platform—an impressive foundation for future growth.
