It was an absolute pleasure to listen to so many inspiring speakers from so many historic businesses. By their very nature, these are institutions that have always adapted and evolved with the times, so it was amazing to get a window into how they are going to approach the next stage in their long histories at the forefront of Retail. It was interesting to hear how, even within the department store sector, there are many different strategies and approaches to engaging with customers and keeping their stores front and center of their brand.

As luxury and department store retail evolves into a more experiential era, where the shopping experience is as vital as the products themselves, modern technology foundations are crucial. To craft a connected store experience that captivates and engages customers, retailers must embrace flexible platforms to bring new technologies into the store experience.

Exciting innovations like generative AI have immense potential, but they can only shine when supported by a strong infrastructure and modern platforms in the key systems that all Retailers need. If POS, ERP, and e-commerce solutions are not state-of-the-art, the true power of AI and other technologies will remain untapped and will be unable to make a meaningful impact on customers and staff experiences.

It was encouraging for us at Enactor to see that robust and flexible technology foundations are going to be at the heart of experiential retail.
